Intel today announced technology dubbed 「Quick Web」, which speeds the delivery of Web pages to user`s desktops.
Quick Web-which has its own icon, 「Quick Web Technology」, akin to 「Intel Inside」-is another example of the explosion of products that speed the delivery of Web pages, a mounting problem with the use of more complex graphics.
The best speed improvement will come with graphic-rich sites such as NASA, while the gains will be less with text-based sites, Intel executives said. Some of the resolution may be lost for the most graphically intense pages when they are quickly downloaded. Global Center plans to charge $5 per month, Erols costs $15 for a three-month subscription, and Netcon is $30 for a six-month period. The ISPs and Intel will jointly market the product.

인텔이 사용자 데스크톱 환경에서 웹페이지 검색속도를 배가해주는 「퀵 웹」이라는 기술을 오늘 발표했다.
퀵 웹은-「인텔 인사이드」와 유사한 고유의 아이콘 「퀵 테크놀로지」로 표시된다-웹페이지 검색속도 배가용으로 쏟아지고 있는 다른 제품들과 차원이 다르다.
(이들 제품은) 더욱 복잡한 그래픽을 이용하기 때문에 문제점을 안고 있다. 인텔의 책임자는 최상의 속도 향상은 항공우주국(NASA)처럼 그래픽이 많은 사이트에서 이뤄지며 텍스트 기반 사이트에서 효과는 감소하게 된다고 설명했다. 해상도 일부가 손상될 수도 있는데 이는 강렬하게 명암 처리된 페이지가 고속으로 다운로드될 경우다.
글로벌센터사는 월 5달러씩을 사용료를 부과할 계획이며 에럴스사는 석달에 15달러로 정했다. 또 넷컴은 6개월에 30달러로 정했다. ISP들과 인텔은 이 제품을 공동으로 시장에 내놓기로 했다.
