What about consuming less?
우리가 너무 많은 음식물 쓰레기를 버리는 것이 사실이지만 세계의 많은 사람은 아직도 굶주림에 시달리죠. 이제 우리도 의식을 개선해야 하지 않을까요?
“먹을 만큼만 요리하자”라고 말할 때
“Let`s cook just as much as we eat.”
Luke: Sunny, you shouldn’t have cooked so much. Can you see the full bucket of wastes! There are so many people out there who can’t even afford clean water to drink.
Sunny: What a big deal! You always said you want me to cook just little more than enough, so you can eat more!
Luke: Well, I changed my mind after the seminar I went to this afternoon. The point is some people have so much to consume whereas some people hardly have anything.
Sunny: The seminar must have been impressive to change you in a day.
Luke: Sunny, 이렇게 많이 음식을 하지 말았어야지. 이 쓰레기들 보여? 마실 물도 없는 사람이 많단 말이야.
Sunny: 무슨 대단한 일이라고! 네가 매일 여유있게 요리하라고 했잖아!
Luke: 오늘 오후 세미나에 다녀온 후로 생각을 바꿨어. 많이 가진 사람들은 너무 많이 소비하지만, 어떤 사람들은 아무것도 가지지 못한다고.
Sunny: 새사람이 된 걸 보니 세미나가 감동적이긴 했나 보구나.
Luke: Let’s make a list of things of what we need to make a better world. Everyone’s awareness is the key to save the environment.
Sunny: Well, first I would say make sure we turn off the water after use. Second, we cook as much as we eat. The last, we don’t stay up too late playing computer games.
Luke: So, basically you are telling me I need to change?
Luke: 더 나은 세상을 위해서 바꿔야 할 점들을 적어 볼까? 개인의 새로운 의식이 환경을 구하는 핵심이지.
Sunny: 그래, 우선 사용 후엔 수돗물을 잠근다. 둘째, 먹을 만큼만 요리한다. 마지막으로 컴퓨터 게임 하느라 늦게까지 있지 않는다.
Luke: 결국 나만 바뀌면 된다는 거야?
